The Israeli Ministry of Protection has contracted Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) to provide 2,800 extra Micro-Tavor assault rifles for the Israel Protection Forces (IDF).
The Israeli 10.5-million new shekel ($2.9 million) buy shall be delivered to the Nahal, Golani, and Givati infantry brigades by 2024.
The IDF has been utilizing the bullpup rifle, through which the cartridge is positioned behind the set off, since 2006.
The 5.56x45mm caliber rifle’s longer barrel lengths of 380 mm and 419 mm and smaller total size present it with superior ballistics in comparison with related weapons, significantly in city warfare.
The rifle options M-1913 Picatinny rails to mount equipment reminiscent of sights, lights, and visible and infrared illuminators.
