Jokowi Had Dinner with Prabowo at Plataran GBK, What Did They Discuss?

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is reportedly having dinner with President-elect and Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto tonight. What was discussed?
Rumors are circulating that Jokowi and Prabowo had dinner at Plataran, Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan, Jakarta. State Secretary Pratikno confirmed the agenda.

“Yes, that’s right,” said Pratikno when asked for confirmation, Tuesday (8/10/2024).

Pratikno said the dinner was held privately. He said the two discussed togetherness and the sustainability of the government going forward.

“Private,” he said.

“Togetherness and sustainability,” Pratikno answered when asked what Jokowi and Prabowo discussed.

It is known that Prabowo and Gibran Rakabuming became president-elect in the 2024 election. Both will be inaugurated on October 20.

Jokowi is confident that the transition period Saudara168 of his government to the Prabowo era will run smoothly. This is because Prabowo said he had prepared thoroughly before the inauguration.

“What I am happy about since he was elected as president-elect, the preparations for the inauguration are really, in terms of work plans, programs and other transitions are going well,” said Jokowi while giving a speech at the BNI Investor Daily event, JCC, Senayan, Tuesday (8/10).

Jokowi also said that since being elected, Prabowo has always been present at all meetings which usually only involve defense matters. Jokowi is confident that all programs in the next government will run well.

“Almost every plenary meeting, limited meeting, whatever the topic, Mr. Prabowo is always present. Previously, it was only for defense matters, but after the president was elected, he was always present at all limited meetings, plenary meetings, so that plans for the flagship programs that will be implemented by President Prabowo are really well prepared with the current ministers,” he said.

Jokowi took the 2025 RAPBN as an example. Prabowo, said Jokowi, diligently met with Finance Minister Sri Mulyani. For that, he is sure that the next government will run smoothly.

“For example, for the 2025 RAPBN, I don’t know how many times Mr. Prabowo met with Finance Minister Mrs. Sri Mulyani, almost every week, almost every day they met to prepare,” he said.

“What does it mean, as previously conveyed, the leadership transition will run smoothly, God willing smoothly so that after being inaugurated the president and the entire cabinet can immediately work quickly to implement existing programs without any pauses,” continued Jokowi.
