Spain Approves $107M AMRAAM Missile Buy for Jets, NASAMS 

The Spanish authorities has permitted the acquisition of 68 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM missiles for its Eurofighter Storm, Boeing FA-18EF Hornet fight jets and NASAM air protection system.

The 100-million-euro ($107-million) buy contains 20 captive missiles and a logistical bundle for the assist and upkeep of the weapon.

“The acquisition of those missiles … will enable sustaining and updating the minimal reserve shares for the plane and weapon methods of the [Spanish] Air and Area Drive and the [Spanish] Military that use this missile, facilitating the achievement of the missions … and bettering their capabilities,” Janes quoted the Spanish council of ministers as saying.

Madrid earlier permitted a batch of 92 AMRAAM AIM-120C-7s in November 2022, in accordance to Infodefensa.
